Cykl 40 obrazów stanowi próbę reinterpretacji w kontekście przemian społecznych i kulturowych obecnego we wszystkich częściach szpiegowskiego cyklu toposu „dziewczyn Bonda”. Na twarzach sportretowanych na złotych płótnach partnerek agenta 007 odmalowany został lęk: zarówno strach dający się odczytać bez wątpliwości i z dużą intensywnością, jak i mniej uchwytny, trudniejszy do jednoznacznego zidentyfikowania.

Kolor prac (przywołany w aż trzech tytułach filmowej serii) i relief znajdujący się na powierzchni płócien sprawiają, że w zależności od kąta padania światła i punktu, z którego obrazy są oglądane, emocje bohaterek zostają uwydatnione bądź złagodzone. Estetyczna złota zasłona akcentuje lub rozmywa marginalizowane w kinie rozrywkowym stany psychiczne: ukazuje towarzyszące Bondowi bohaterki jako przepełnione niepokojem kobiety naznaczone piętnem traumatycznych przeżyć.

The series of 40 paintings is an attempt to reinterpret, in the context of social and cultural changes, the topos of ‘Bond girls’ present in all the instalments of the spy series. On the faces of the female partners of agent 007 portrayed on the golden canvases, fear has been painted: both the emotion which can be read without any doubt and with great intensity, and the less tangible one which is more difficult to identify unambiguously.

The colour of the works (recalled in as many as three titles of the film series) and the relief on the surface of the canvases make the emotions of the heroines highlighted or softened, depending on the angle of incidence of light and the point from which the paintings are viewed. The aesthetic golden veil accentuates or blurs the mental states marginalised in entertainment cinema: it shows the Bond partners as anxious women marked by traumatic experiences.
